Hi, my name is Sarah and I started this charity to provide undergarments, like bras and underwear, to girls in orphanages in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. I am doing this because it is a basic necessity but the orphanages have many other needs, leaving a lot less for items such as these. I went to Haiti in June 2016 for the first time to deliver undergarments and donate some cash from my first fundraiser. I am working on raising more money through bake sales, running 5K races, requesting grants from family funds and approaching clothing manufacturers. I have currently made four trips and I will visit again in 2018 and plan to go as often as possible which I hope is no less than 4 times a year. My new friends in Haiti and I would appreciate it if you would donate so that I can buy more undergarments for them or contribute to support other needs. Thank you very much!

Micro-finance programs have made a difference throughout the developing world. With this idea in mind, Helping Haiti Work grew out of Dr. Leslee Jaeger’s volunteer medical mission work in Limbe, Haiti. Since this video was made, Helping Haiti Work has granted many more startup loans (160 total loans!) and still has a 100% payback rate.

FONHOH a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization striving to promote and contribute to provide both access and quality education to children and teens living predominantly in remote rural areas of Haiti. Created in 2005 by Haitian and American educators in Massachusetts, FONHOH believes that education is the key to social development, a catalyst for success, and the plenitude of human dignity. Moreover, education access should not be a privilege, but one of basics human rights. In order to reach its goals, FONHOH seeks to work in collaboration with all sectors – government, nongovernmental organizations, businesses, and individuals – so as to bring education to rural Haiti, create conditions to reduce rural exodus which has led to overcrowded schools and poor quality education in urban areas.

Hope for Haiti focuses on education and long-term sustainable projects. We provide the foundation necessary to build self-sufficient communities. In place of short-term projects that give out food and supplies that only focus on today, we provide the necessary training and skill development to help the communities provide for themselves.

Founded by Sarah Wallace, Olive Tree Projects was created to help children in Haiti. We believe that the best way to achieve this goal is through 'family preservation' efforts - a term that has stemmed from a movement to keep children out of institutions.
The environment an orphanage provides cannot replace the family unit and, unfortunately, often causes harm. Children become isolated from the community and do not find the attention and care they need from the limited staff. To learn more about this issue and our philosophy visit www.wearelumos.org
Our goal is to prevent the need for orphanages and keep children in a family. Maternal mortality, unwanted children, and poverty are all reasons why children end up in orphanages. We work towards preventing these issues through 3 different programs:
1. Midwifery Centre
2. Foster Care Program
