Créée en 1979, Aide Médicale Internationale (A.M.I.) est une organisation humanitaire non gouvernementale à but non lucratif, apolitique et laïque.

AidWEST was founded during the first few days following the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti. In catastrophes such as this, not only are thousands killed but many more are severely injured, orphaned, separated and traumatized. In the early weeks following such disasters, large organizations slowly gear up to send medicines, doctors and nurses. But in Haiti, and in other recent disasters in impoverished places, the staggering numbers of casualties far exceeded the capabilities of the initial influx of professionals. Doctors and nurses are simply overwhelmed by the needs tens of thousands of patients have for labor-intensive procedures.

NASTAD Haiti has been working with Haiti’s Ministry of Health (MoH) since 2003. Much of NASTAD Haiti’s work has focused on evaluating, planning, expanding, and supporting comprehensive HIV case-based surveillance, including the development of a national case-based HIV surveillance system, enhanced perinatal surveillance to support care for mothers living with HIV and their exposed infants, and integrated case surveillance for HIV and TB. Case reports are submitted via a web-based platform, built via existing IT infrastructure, which receives case reports in a low-barrier way from most known publicly funded HIV testing, treatment, and care sites in Haiti. At the close of 2014, over 230,000 case reports had been received from four electronic inputs, representing approximately 90% of annual HIV diagnoses. NASTAD Haiti works with the Ministry of Health and other in country partners to create reports and data presentations at both the national and regional levels.
To further support comprehensive HIV surveillance, NASTAD Haiti, and the MoH co-facilitate a National HIV Surveillance Working Group to guide the planning and timing of surveillance activities, as well as the use of generated surveillance data.

APF (The Association of the Peasants of Fondwa) is national NGO of Haiti focused on grassroots development and empowerment in rural communities. APF aims to provide tools and resources that allow peasants to pull themselves out of poverty.
Over the past 25 years, APF has worked in the village of Fondwa and surrounding communities to develop clean drinking water, a road connecting hard to reach villages, a primary and secondary school, health clinic, radio station, credit union, and guest house.
In 2004, the University of Fondwa (UNIF) was established. As the only university in all of rural Haiti, UNIF provides higher education to students coming from extremely remote areas. UNIF students return to their home communities throughout their course of study to share their knowledge of agronomy, business management, and veterinary medicine.
On January 12, 2010, most of the infrastructure built by APF was destroyed, and Fondwa suffered many losses. However, the APF community is hopeful for the future. Since 2010, the APF has remobilized, and is using the resources and partnerships available to us to rebuild and restore all that had been lost.
We have constructed a temporary university for the students, and have converted shipping containers into dormitories. We are now process of rebuilding our primary school, Saint Antoine. Please explore the different photo albums in the gallery to view our progress.
All of our programs are based in Fondwa, however our headquarters are based in Port-au-Prince.

Fondwa is a mountainous region and more than 80% of the population is peasants. More than 50% of the population is less than 20 years old. There are 6 other rural communities which benefit from the work of APF, about 50,000 individuals all together.
