From Here to Haiti (FHTH) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity based in New York. FHTH was formed in the aftermath of the earthquake of 2010 to respond to the need for repair of non-governmental places of public assembly such as schools, churches, orphanages, clinics, and the like. FHTH creates local employment opportunities and promotes self-sufficiency for the people of Haiti through that repair work. FHTH focuses its efforts in the provinces where the need is greatest.

God’s Planet for Haiti (GP4H) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Maryville, Tennessee and received a charter from the State of Tennessee in March of 2010. GP4H is also recognized in Haiti as an international non-profit organization. Our mission is to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Haitian people and to meet the needs of the children through education.
Our original goal was to start a Christian school in Marmont, Hinche, Haiti that will increase in size each year one-grade level at a time. To create a vocational program for students as they get older that will train them in skills they will need as adults. To teach these children about agriculture, plumbing, electricity, sewing, computer skills and other life skills that will help them to thrive in Haiti as the country’s economy grows and the country rebuilds. We also believe as God says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” We pray that as Haiti recovers and rebuilds, the children will be equipped to lead their country in a better direction for the future. Teaching Christ’s example to show them the importance of giving and helping others, we pray that as adults they will continue in this pattern of living that will glorify God.

Green Haiti based in New York City, is a registered 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit organization, created by a group of Haitian medical professionals. For several years they have been traveling to Haiti and other countries during their off time providing free healthcare. In doing so, they realized that free healthcare was not enough. The environment is what was making people sick. Therefore, they decided to approach the problem at its source. With other Haitian professionals, these doctors started Green Haiti and over the past three years, we have helped start a farmers coop (association des planteurs de mango de Leogane) that has supported the planting of over 50,000 mango trees in Leogane. As an organization, we are looking to replicate their success all throughout Haiti.

The organization’s name represents the address of our childhood home in Port-au-Prince, where our grandmother and mother offered food, shelter and love to countless children and neighbors over a span of more than 30 years. In honor of these women, we founded Haiti 155 shortly after the devastating earthquake in 2010, which both us survived, and have been working to rebuild and revitalize our country ever since.

After the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010, I volunteered on a medical service mission where I spent ten brutal days visiting hospitals and supporting daily clinics in emergency camps in Jacmel and Miragoâne. Although I lacked medical training, I did my best to serve in any capacity I could. This experience fundamentally changed me and upon my return to the US I resolved to do whatever I could to improve the lives of those in my homeland, especially the children.
