‘Tis the Year of Planning

2018 was a wild adventure. Researching Haiti’s social/nonprofit sector has been both a challenge as well as a learning opportunity for us. We hope this year we are able to bring you the vital information that we have gathered.

Planning in nonprofit should be a top priority this year. If you haven’t done so, you must sit with your board of directors to plan the next six months or the entire year calendar.

Develop basic strategic plans. If you are just starting out, write your mission statement, write your vision statement, write your values, conduct an internal and external analysis, identify your strategic issues, establish your goals, and develop a staffing plan. If you have been in the game for a while, then the next best thing to do is to strategize, evaluate, monitor, and research. It is always a good idea to start looking for funding opportunities now, know your grantmakers and know their deadlines.
