ECLAT Haiti Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the focus to bring advancement and positivity to Haiti. We are a group of young professionals who came together with the aim of empowering Haitians in Haiti to become self-sufficient through training and skills development.
ECLAT is working towards bringing awareness to the needs of those in Haiti, be it in the development of the country or highlighting the products that could help cultivate the population. A Focus on Education and Leadership
The way we are making disciples is through the means of education, by focusing on two aspects.
First, we are discipling teachers to be effective disciple makers, to model Christ likeness in the classroom and become experts in the field of education.
Secondly, through an academic/leadership school. Gospel Haiti school was founded in 2014 and is a training ground for future leaders who will serve in the name of Christ. Whether students leave our school to become pastors, teachers, lawyers, doctors, politicians or other leadership positions, our hope is that they will be future leaders in the name of Christ, fulfilling Christ's call for their lives. This is how we intend to fulfill the great commission.

GrassRoots United represents a collaboration of ideas, resources, information, and efforts drawn from many smaller institutions and unified towards common goals.
We build critical relationships between local communities and relief organizations, creating strong foundations through which relief workers can pool specialized resources and deliver them to where they are most needed, most experienced, and therefore most effective.
While photographing images of the devastation in Haiti, I saw first hand how my friends and fellow Haitians were organizing themselves and helping thousands in need.
During my visit to Haiti, I followed and photographed my friends Johnny Saati and Frederic Bellande and their families as they coordinated the delivery and distribution of rice, beans, oil and water. I also worked with Liliane and Sandra Holland, who hand delivered bags of food around Port-au-Prince to single mothers and their children.
While large organizations are certainly doing their part in this tragedy, I realized how Haitians, who are familiar with the country, the language and the customs of the people, were able to mobilize themselves quickly and efficiently.
My friends were not getting paid for this work...it was Haitians helping Haitians. They hired men who were out of work to unload the food trailers. Mothers and their children helped pack individual bags of food for other families in need. They were all fed, given drinking water and paid for their involvement.
Upon my return from Haiti, my girlfriend and fellow photographer, Lorraine Daley and I, spoke about how many of the larger organizations seemed bogged down in bureaucracy, causing inefficiencies in getting supplies to the people. We noted the efficacy of my Haitian friends' efforts on the ground. We also knew we were able to give a much higher percentage of our money or any other donations to helping the people, since we did not have executive salaries to pay and considerable operating costs. We knew we already had a pipeline established for the distribution of aid in place. Groundwork for Haiti was born out of this hands-on, on-the-ground, no-red-tape approach to actually getting people what they need - food, water, basic medical supplies and temporary housing.
H3Missions was founded in April 2010 by a group of compassionate individuals wanting to respond to the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that struck the island nation of Haiti in January of that year. We conducted our first medical mission with a group of doctors, nurses and other health professionals tending to the thousands of wounded survivors.
After seeing the destruction and the great need for humanitarian services we knew this would become a long term effort. To that effect we worked to incorporate the organization into an IRS recognized 501c3 non-profit.
In addition to our medical and dental missions we have also constructed classrooms at an existing school, dug wells and installed water purification systems, and are working on installing solar power at the clinic which we support. Each mission trip also includes a food distribution hike carrying food to the poorest people in the most remote areas.
