Haiti Health Initiative (HHI) is a nonprofit organization focused on serving the public health needs of the rural Haitian people. HHI’s goal is to first uncover the root causes that contribute to reduced health in Haiti. HHI will then use that knowledge to work alongside the Haitian community and to implement sustainable water treatment projects, improve nutritional opportunities through agricultural expansion, and train local medical and dental providers to provide sustainable care for those in their communities. HHI’s philosophy in working with the Haitians is best summarized by Gordon B. Hinckley’s saying: “Bring all the good that you have and let us add to it.” HHI’s aim is to support current healthy living practices and to promote sustainable and culturally appropriate change by working side by side with local and international partners.

Hands Up for Haiti is a medical humanitarian organization making a sustainable and positive impact on the health of the people of northern Haiti. How we do it: - We collaborate with and support the Haitian medical community. - We support programs in malnutrition, maternal-child health, eye health, cervical cancer and hypertension. - We mentor local leaders and provide professional education opportunities. - We support community education programs on health and well being. - We send visiting teams to provide targeted program support. - We provide clean water for our communities through the building and maintenance of wells. - We partner with local organizations and hospitals.

Vision for Haiti's primary mission is to provide and promote basic healthcare and education to those in need in rural Haiti. Founded in 2009 by Beatrice Marseilles, a Nurse Practitioner and a native of Meyer, Haiti, she recruited a group of a caring doctor, nurses, and other healthcare professionals from Spring Valley, NY, to provide their first medical mission. Meyer is a small mountain village located two hours from the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince and isolated because of its mountain terrain. Hauling medical supplies and vaccinations by cart up the hillsides, the first mission served 400 patients and provided tetanus vaccinations to 500 poor and ill who have no opportunity or means to see a doctor or receive proper medical treatment. Since that time, Vision for Haiti has made annual trips and treats up to 1,000 people each time.
In 2015, Vision for Haiti launched its Textbook Program to deliver school books for the 851 children of Meyer in grades 1 to 6. Many of the residents of Meyer struggle to live on less than $2 per day and have no money to send their children to school or buy them supplies. Vision for Haiti believes that textbooks would have a significant impact on the education these children were receiving, along with supporting our belief in good healthcare through education.
