Northern Haiti Sustainability Initiative, Incorporated (NHSI) was founded to provide for the long-term sustainability of schools in Northern Haiti. An unfortunate reality is that many schools in Haiti are constructed with no plan for sustaining daily operations. NHSI provides training and funds to properly budget and finance teacher wages, books, school supplies, an on- campus water source, and daily student meals. Teacher training is provided to raise the quality of education, including each school's ability to perform successfully on government tests. NHSI requires rigid budgetary discipline backed by strict expense documentation for all supported schools. An integral component of each school's long-term success is the financial and hands-on participation of the students' parents and local community.

Rebuilding Haiti One by One, Inc. (a 501c3 Corporation) is committed to providing aid to villagers in St-Matin and Embouchure, Haiti. The people here live by agriculture. raising livestock, fishing and the coconut tree (which they reap every 3 months). There is no public school in St-Matin. No medical center. No Power. No good water system. The community dug a well to get water for everyone. The water is not safe and a clean water system is needed. The homes in St-Matin are built with sheet metal, paille and masonry.

Touch Haiti is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which was founded by Mitch Laguerre in April, 2012 as a means to continue providing support to the people of his hometown, Petite Riviere de Nippes, Haiti, after the massive earthquake that left the country in ruins in January, 2010. With a small group of people in the US and in Haiti, Mitch was able to raise some money to provide some of the people with food and water to hold them up temporarily. From that point on, Mitch continued to provide for some of the people whenever possible, as some continue to reach out to him till this day.
Touch Haiti was formed in order to continue what Mitch started since 2010 on a bigger scale. As time goes by, it is apparent that the people of Petite Riviere de Nippes need a lot more help than imagined. Not only are they in need of some basic day-to-day items like water, they are in dire need of a full-fledged redevelopment. We would like to help with that. With a little bit of help from other individuals and other corporations, we believe we can help the people of Petite Riviere get back on their feet and re-beautify their land.

Under its original name, The Methodist Committee on Overseas Relief (MCOR) was founded in 1940 by the Bishop Herbert Welch, in response to displaced and vulnerable populations in the wake of World War II. In his address at the General Conference that year, Bishop Welch stated that MCOR would serve as a “voice of conscience among Methodists to act in the relief of human suffering without distinction of race, color, or creed.” This mandate remains true to this day. The organization’s name was legally changed to The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) at the 1972 General Conference.

Yolande's Hope for Haiti is a non-profit organization founded by a Haitian American social worker. I am very passionate about education, the Haitian people, and Haiti. With the backing of an experienced and educated board, we venture to promote education in Haiti which will incorporate some elements of the American education system, with the already promising existing education system of Haiti.
