Pastor Sonja Dickherber visited this area while helping with a dental clinic on a short-term mission trip in 1994. Walking through the streets of Anse-A-Galets (“on-SOG-ah-LAY”) on the island of LaGonave, she was struck by the hopelessness of the people there, and knew that God was calling her to do something to help. With much prayer, after spending a year in Anse-A-Galets, Sonja and her husband Jerry incorporated Celebrate Jesus of Haiti, Inc. as a 501C3 organization with the mission to improve the lives of the people there on three levels: Spirit, Soul and Body. They made the decision to pay their own expenses and to receive no salary or airfare reimbursements for their work. Only Haitians who are chosen to do certain jobs receive a salary from the mission. This very unusual arrangement means that virtually everything that’s given to the ministry is spent to improve the lives of the Haitian people.
The primary purpose of For Haiti, with Love, Inc. is to make life better for the poorest of the poor - now, and to help them help themselves. Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. Things have only gotten worse with a major food shortage. There are no jobs and the international community is withholding aid. Haiti's poor need jobs, they need food, education, homes and above all, they need hope. By providing food and free medical care for burns and other emergencies the people are back able to provide for themselves, with funding for cottage business start-ups, we help make that possible. FHL provides funds for basic education of reading, writing, and math through tuitions; cover personal emergencies like funerals, x-rays, special medications to give dignity. Provide clothing and shoes, proper home (when funding permits) all to add self- respect and feeling of independence.

Haiti Education And Resource Team (HEART) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all volunteer-run organization dedicated to educating the whole child empowering each student to reach full potential. One hundred percent of all donations directly benefit the School.
Since 2010 HEART has positively impacted the lives of more than 2000 individuals through youth and adult education, health and dental clinics, donation distributions, employment opportunities, and community workshops. Since the School’s start, 135 students have been enrolled.

Help for Haiti, Inc., is a small group of loving individuals seeking to make a difference in the lives of desperate people. up came together under the leadership of Mr. Johnny Jones for one common goal; “to help the people of Haiti”. The group made up of people from diverse professions and backgrounds. There are educators, entrepreneurs, physicians, medical professionals, state employees, financial strategist, high school and college students.
Most of the group was just meeting each other for the first time while others shared some years of acquaintance through St. Monica Catholic Church. During our first mission, all came as a family looking out for one another and ministering to the needy people of Kobonal Haiti Mission.
We experienced a wonderful success story, in Kobonal, however, we realize the hard work and dedication it has taken to build this mission and minister to the people the way it does. We do recognize that every available resource is needed to keep this good work going strong. More people and donations will result in more Haitians being helped.
