Just Haiti Inc
Business Name
Long Business Description

Just Haiti works with subsistence coffee growers in Haiti to bring their fair trade, shade grown, chemical free coffee to US consumers.

Through our fair trade-plus model of doing business, Just Haiti aims to build an equitable and fair partnership between coffee consumers in the United States and coffee growers in Haiti. Our goals are for the growers to not only grow high-quality coffee but also to own and profit from all post-harvest operations required to export and sell their coffee. The growers in Haiti receive the full value of their labor, and consumers in the US purchase high-quality coffee at a fair price, knowing that the Haitian families who produce the coffee are earning a just wage.

Just Haiti works with the most vulnerable and economically at-risk communities, who would not otherwise have access to our technical assistance and market development. Just Haiti pays the fair trade price up front, without any reductions, then exports, roasts, packages, and sells the coffee in the United States. Afterward, all profits go directly to the growers and their families.

Our mission includes protecting Haiti's fragile environment, and using environmentally sustainable packaging in the US. Our coffee is shade grown and produced without chemicals. Our packaging is compostable and made of recycled materials.

Konbit Haiti exists to develop the poorest and most marginalized in society. We empower impoverished communities to create sustainable change by developing the family, business, and the environment.

We work with locals to provide the opportunities they need to change their environment. Our current focus is on the poorer and neglected communities in Montrouis, Haiti, and the remote mountain villages behind the city.

We partner with the local community to provide the opportunities for an under resourced community to grow holistically. We aim to help develop the unmet needs in a community by partnering with locals for sustained transformation. We do so by focusing on:

a) The Family: Breakdown of the family environment can lead to sever attrition of a communities health. We focus on helping local families by training and empowering them in order to help restore communities ability to sustain and develop themselves. Konbit Haiti currently impacts the family by training women, children, and couples via annual conferences and after school programs.

b) Business: We aim to help develop the local economy and support Konbit Haiti's own operations and ministries through local business. By developing and discipling locals with the ability to run honest, innovative, and profitable businesses, we will be able to inspire and lead those within the community to also dream and innovate. By not only creating jobs, but developing local businesses, Konbit Haiti will have the ability to create a profound local impact on the community. Our main focus are those in extreme poverty, aiming to create immediate growth in the local economy. We train our staff to be leaders in the community. As we develop businesses, the indigenous leaders have more ability to disciple those coming out of cyclic poverty. Current businesses and projects include: Konbit Haiti moringa superfood products, Konbit Haiti women's sewing co-op, local small business loans and development.

c) The Environment: Caring for and developing the earth is essential to creating the means for communities and individuals to have a self-sustainable livelihood. Konbit Haiti aims to focus on the environment in order to restore the opportunities naturally provided by the earth, we currently do so through the following efforts: locally led water, sanitation, and hygiene projects and training; recycling programs; agricultural training and development; and food co-operatives.

Missions in Haiti is a ministry of David and Alicia Lloyd, and our goal is to see the Gospel of Christ make a difference in the lives of Haiti's young people.

Haiti is a nation that has been and is devestated by the powers of darkness. Missions in Haiti was started in 2000 with the purpose of setting Haiti on a different course.  We aim to accomplish this by targeting the country's biggest need—its children.  Although the entire nation is steeped in poverty, the children suffer the worst.  Thousands are malnutritioned, uneducated, and headed for hopeless lives apart from Christ.

Long Business Description

Nick and Nikki grew up in the same small town in Washington State. When they were 12 and 15 they went on a mission trip to Mexico with their church. This became a yearly tradition and the two young kids soon became good friends. Nick enjoyed short term mission trips, but very clearly remembers saying “God please never call me to do it long term.”

Two weeks before Nick and Nikki were engaged, Nikki made Nick promise that when she graduated college they would move abroad for a year. Nick had already purchased the ring and assumed that by the time she graduated she would be ready to start a family and have a normal life; therefore he agreed. Nikki however never quit talking about her desire to move abroad. During her Junior year of college, Nikki decided to go to Kenya for a month with some friends. Nick was thrilled to hear this as he hoped this would get it out of her system and then they could move on with life. Nikki returned from Kenya even more fired up about moving abroad. Nick started to realize that he might have to follow through with his promise.

View More: http://kaditiedephotography.pass.us/nick-and-nikky-family-sessionThe two began looking into many options, begrudgingly by Nick. It wasn’t until touring the UN building in NYC and seeing billboards of children dying of preventable diseases that Nick finally had a change of heart. He decided to type “Orphanage” into Google and found a place called Children of the Promise (COTP). Long Story Short, the two moved there in June of 2010 for what they thought would be a one-year commitment. Instead, they found themselves serving at COTP for 5.5 years. After COTP they served a quick 8 month stint at Danitas Children. During their time there, they began feeling called to start their own organization; something that they both said they would never do. What started out as a joke, “maybe we should start our own non-profit,” suddenly turned into an amazing plan.

In June 2016, with only $500 donated at that point, they took a leap of faith and purchased a small plot of land to start their mission. They had plans of building a house and starting a farm and a family health program. They had no idea if or when the money would come in to make their visions a reality. But they faithfully moved forward knowing God would provide far beyond what they could imagine.

Technoserve, Inc
Business Name
Long Business Description

Our origin traces back to the village of Adidome, Ghana. In 1963, our founder Ed Bullard traveled there with his family for a year of volunteer service.
Ed was captivated by the spirit and character of the Ghanaian people. But he was appalled by the depth of poverty that surrounded him. A businessman, Ed understood that the contrast between this poverty and his own prosperity came not from any innate difference between himself and a poor Ghanaian farmer.

Instead, the people he saw struggled because they lacked the knowledge, skills and tools needed to lift themselves out of poverty. So in 1968, Ed launched TechnoServe – short for “technology in the service of mankind.” He envisioned TechnoServe as a different type of nonprofit, one that would help poor people by connecting them to information and market opportunities.
