Our Journey to Family Preservation and Orphan Prevention
Heartline Ministries was founded in 2000 to strengthen Haitian families and prevent children from becoming orphans. Today, Heartline Ministries holistically addresses the root causes of orphanhood and extreme material poverty through multiple ministries with Haitian children and their families.

Hope for Haiti is blessed in having a team of talented, passionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to the success of our programs. Our distinguished and well-established Board of Directors provides the organization with strong governance, oversight and strategic direction. Our staff includes members based in both the U.S. and Haiti who ensure that our donors’ resources are carefully stewarded so that over $.95 of every dollar goes directly to the Haitian people through effective programs in education, nutrition & healthcare, and community development. Hope for Haiti’s overhead expenses are kept so low thanks to our hundreds of volunteers who assist with gifts in-kind, event planning, fundraising, brand awareness, training, program development, and special projects.

For almost 30 years, La Gonâve Haiti Partners has worked with communities on the Haitian island of Gonâve to improve access to healthcare, education, economic opportunity, sanitation and clean water.
The partnership is a mutual mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti and various US churches with ten local communities. Each village contains a church and primary school that serve as community centers for the surrounding rural area.
Together, Haitian and American partners share their hopes for the future, then craft a vision for how to realize them. This model of development is challenging and messy at times, but builds a sense of trust and mutuality. By listening to and valuing the insights of each other, the partners become a community where the dignity of all is recognized.
The Priest-in-Charge administers partnership funds to employ Gonâvians. Jobs represent many industries including healthcare, education, farming/agriculture, construction and small businesses. Locally-sourced goods and materials are used whenever possible.
The partnership’s work is guided by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ: healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and reconciling people to one another and to God. With a shared dependence on God, Haitian and American partners work together to create a world free of suffering, despair, and isolation and to offer opportunities to flourish on Gonâve.

After being involved with an orphanage in Haiti for more than 7 years, Life For Haiti was established to help create jobs in a country where unemployment is over 70%.
When you visit Haiti and see men and women just standing around with nothing to do it makes you wonder why this is happening. Then you realize it is because there are very few job opportunities available.
We want to create jobs using small simple tools or equipment that we can put into their hands. We can and we will always take food and clothing to Haiti, but after the food is consumed and the clothes wear out the people are right back where they were. When we can put something like a wheelbarrow in the hands of one man he can make a living using it as a delivery vehicle. Then he can begin to provide food and clothing for his family.
Life for Haiti wants to help change the lives of some Haitians by providing them an opportunity to change their life with a job.

Who / What is Sonje Ayiti?
Sonje Ayiti was founded in the summer of 2004 by Gabrielle Aurel.
Gabie was born and raised in Haiti. Her parents were among the first wave of Haitians to make the treacherous journey to the United States. Her father sailed to Miami when Gabie was only 2-years old. Three years later, her mother attempted the journey and sadly never arrived.

Motivated by the inherent worth of each individual and our great care for the people of Haiti, the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation works side by side with the people of Saint Rock and the surrounding rural communities to enhance their lives through:
Providing quality primary health care;
Helping children and young adults access valuable education opportunities;
Instituting community outreach programs that support economic sustainability;
Investing in infrastructure to support overall health; and
Empowering members of the community to advocate for their rights in the future.
We recognize that through our on-going collaboration with the Haitian government and non-governmental organizations, we will support the shared goal of greater self-sufficiency.

The St. Luke Foundation is a Haitian run organization that provides education, medical care and dignified humanitarian outreach to over 150,000 people per year through life giving programs that employ over 900 Haitian staff. Father Rick Frechette, an American priest and doctor, started the work of the St. Luke mission in collaboration with an inspired group of young Haitian leaders, who, together, saw a different path forward for their country.
Founded in 2001, the St Luke Programs grew out of the programs of Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs, which Father Frechette started over 25 years ago. As the young people of NPFS programs grew into adulthood they sought to create a completely organic and native organization whose goal would be to propel change and progress in Haiti. This initiative became the St Luke Foundation. While the St Luke Foundation is a separate entity, there is a great deal of collaboration and shared vision and leadership between St Luke and NPFS Programs. Between the two programs we provide education to over 10,000 students annually, medical care to over 200,000 annually and employment to over 1800 permanent staff.
