The activities of the CISP are consistent with its statutory purposes and concern the realization of humanitarian, rehabilitation and development projects in third countries and of solidarity campaigns, training programs, information, combating social exclusion and racism, education to development and intercultural in Italy and in Europe. Together, the activities of the CISP aim at the realization of the concrete conditions for the development and self-determination of peoples, the diffusion, and respect for human rights and the fulfillment of the basic needs of the person.

Food For The Poor is one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the United States.

From Here to Haiti (FHTH) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity based in New York. FHTH was formed in the aftermath of the earthquake of 2010 to respond to the need for repair of non-governmental places of public assembly such as schools, churches, orphanages, clinics, and the like. FHTH creates local employment opportunities and promotes self-sufficiency for the people of Haiti through that repair work. FHTH focuses its efforts in the provinces where the need is greatest.

In 2003, Wade McGuinn, who owns McGuinn Holdings, a construction management company in Lexington, South Carolina, embarked on a mission trip to Jeremie, Haiti and it was there he discovered his life’s calling. In 2005, while in Jeremie, he was led to the home of a local Haitian, Jean Renal Alexander, who was caring for 8 abandoned children in his home when he was barely able to care for himself. When Wade returned home, he and his wife Janet were compelled to help. As such, Haiti Children Project was founded. Both McGuinns currently serve on Haiti Children Project’s Board, speak to groups throughout the country and lead many discovery trips to Haiti throughout the year for potential donors. The McGuinns believe that Haiti Children Project’s Next Generation Program is their calling in life and they continue to work tirelessly to ensure that Haiti Children Project is fully endowed in time for their impending retirement.
Service is a nice concept but we often use the word without any true allegiance to what the Lord expects of his servants. The following are ideas that fit quite nicely with our theology of Christian Community Development, this special time of year when we celebrate the offering of Christ as the Servant who would save the world.
1. A servant does not have a message of his own. He is the mouthpiece of His Master. Just as an ambassador is expected to promote the views of his country and government, so also the servant of God is His representative on earth and His message is Reconciliation as Paul puts it, ‘you are ambassadors of reconciliation. Christ’s birth, life, death, and resurrection solidified that message.
2. A servant does not have a country of his own. He is only a pilgrim in a foreign land until His Master calls him home or to another destination. As a servant of God, where He calls us is where we need to be. Relocation is the mind of Christ that we should have during our pilgrimage here on earth. He left the splendor of heaven for the lowest possible state of human existence. None of us could ever match such a sacrifice.
3. A servant does not have any possessions of his own. He is only the manager of His Master’s resources. This could be the best of both worlds if we start on the right footing. It is always such fun to spend someone else’s money.
This is the opportunity to return unto the Lord what is rightfully his (The earth is the Lord’s and all who live in it) and at the same time be able to spend it for the aggrandizement of his kingdom here on earth. This is the very essence of Redistribution
