Pastor Sonja Dickherber visited this area while helping with a dental clinic on a short-term mission trip in 1994. Walking through the streets of Anse-A-Galets (“on-SOG-ah-LAY”) on the island of LaGonave, she was struck by the hopelessness of the people there, and knew that God was calling her to do something to help. With much prayer, after spending a year in Anse-A-Galets, Sonja and her husband Jerry incorporated Celebrate Jesus of Haiti, Inc. as a 501C3 organization with the mission to improve the lives of the people there on three levels: Spirit, Soul and Body. They made the decision to pay their own expenses and to receive no salary or airfare reimbursements for their work. Only Haitians who are chosen to do certain jobs receive a salary from the mission. This very unusual arrangement means that virtually everything that’s given to the ministry is spent to improve the lives of the Haitian people.

Missions in Haiti is a ministry of David and Alicia Lloyd, and our goal is to see the Gospel of Christ make a difference in the lives of Haiti’s young people.
Haiti is a nation that has been and is devestated by the powers of darkness. Missions in Haiti was started in 2000 with the purpose of setting Haiti on a different course. We aim to accomplish this by targeting the country’s biggest need—its children. Although the entire nation is steeped in poverty, the children suffer the worst. Thousands are malnutritioned, uneducated, and headed for hopeless lives apart from Christ.

Time4Haiti was founded by 6 individuals from across the globe whose hearts have been stirred to discern ways to promote lasting change in Minoterie, Haiti and beyond. Our mission is to transform, inspire, mentor, and empower Haitians by God’s grace through development and education. Through close relationships that have formed throughout our years of serving individually in Haiti, we have come to understand the difficulties and struggles faced by individuals living in this impoverished country. For real change to take place, we know that Haitians need to become spiritually, mentally and physically strong and we, as TIME4Haiti, want to come along side the Haitians to help make this a reality.
